39 Weeks!!! And Nursery Reveal

I’m still trucking along… I think Griffin is nice and cozy and will NEVER come out!!!
39 Weeks
I mean really… Look at that bump! Ridiculous!!!
How far along? 39 Weeks
Weight gain? A lot. Probably pushing 50 lbs now. I am soooo swollen, so a lot of that is simply water retention. If I wasn’t so embarrassed, I would upload a picture of my feet, ankles, and legs. But it would gross you out, so I won’t. You’re welcome!
Maternity clothes? I have just a few t-shirts that actually cover the bump still. Bottoms are mainly sweat pants. I have ONE dress I can still wear. I’m ready to get back into my old clothes!
Sleep? Bleh. Some nights it’s great, and other nights it’s not.
Best moment this week? Finally finishing his nursery!! The only thing I’m missing is the crib skirt! So excited!
Movement? Minimal these days.
Gender? boy
Labor Signs? Well, I am still in the pre-labor stage. He of course dropped two weeks ago, lost the plug, having Braxton Hicks, yada yada yada. I’m ready for the real thing!! At my last appointment on Thursday, I progressed from 1 cm to 2 cm and 30% effaced to 50%. Hoping I am further along this Thursday!!!
Belly button in or out? It’s kinda weird…. The bottom is flat and the top part has popped.
What I miss? Not feeling like a ginormous whale!
Weekly Wisdom? Enjoy it
Milestones? Dilating!
Cravings? Popcorn and Coke YUM! I’m also eating spicy chicken wings in hopes of jumpstarting labor. It’s not helping…

And now… the nursery reveal! 99% complete!

Walking in, you will see the charcoal gray and white, chevron curtains my mother made. On each side, there are floating book shelves that my dad made, mom and Bran sanded, Bran installed, and I painted. Hundreds of dollars of wonderful books are there for Baby G. I have board books, squishy books, Dr. Seuss, hardback and paperback books that will hopefully hold his interest and develop a love for reading!
008
On the back wall is his crib. My mom made the wonderful bumper pads. I used the left over fabric to create his mobile. I just love Pinterest and all the great ideas I find there!! Bed skirt is coming soon! It will be in the same fabric as the curtains. On one side of the crib is his toy box, bumbo, and play mat.  On the other side is the rocker.

My mom and sister had a recliner I purchased recovered to match the color scheme. I am so thankful for all of their help!!! The red table was a Christmas gift from my sister as well. She amazes me how she can paint furniture and make it look so great!

I found the lamp base at Lowes after looking for months and months and months for the perfect lamp. I still couldn’t find a shade I liked, so I bought a cheap white one from Target and used some left over fabric to recover it. I love how it turned out!

This is a HUGE canvas I painted a while back. Again, inspired by a project on a blog I found on Pinterest. I spent hours trying to find the perfect verse for my son. I hope he internalizes these words and becomes a strong man of God.

The peg board was another inspired-by-Pinterest project! It holds his diapers above his changing table, Itzbeen timer, clock, picture, wreath, and a vintage m I found in one of my sister’s favorite stores. It needs something else…. maybe another basket that matches the one up there. I’m not sure. It’s a work in progress!

I am still in love with this popcorn rug from Target! It just is perfect!

And a picture of his closet. I LOVE all these diapers!!!

Now all we need is little Griffin to make his debut!!

38 Weeks

So I don’t have a picture… yet. But know that my bump is huge and my face is even bigger.

How far along? 38 Weeks!
Weight gain? A whole lot!!!
Maternity clothes? Yes! Mainly sweat pants. I am sooooooo ready to be able to wear my t-shirts again. I mean really?? What am I supposed to wear if I can’t fit into my t-shirts!?! This is getting ridiculous!
Sleep? Bleh. Still hit and miss.
Best moment this week? I finally got checked last week, and I am a centimeter dilated as of last Wednesday. Being checked was not so much fun though. I go back Thursday to see where I am now!
Movement? He’s been very active the past few days, but not as much today. My belly is so extremely tight. It feels like he doesn’t have any room.
Gender? Boy! Baby Griffin
Labor Signs? Well I know this is kinda gross, but I want to remember it all when I look back at this blog. So for the whole internet world to know, I lost my plug today! So I am definitely in the pre-labor stage. Griffin has dropped, Braxton Hicks contractions are coming and going, I am nesting, and the plug is gone. Hopefully he will come soon! Next week would be perfect for me…
Belly button in or out? It’s flat.
What I miss? Oh my word. The list is getting long. Mainly I miss my old clothes and I miss not feeling like a whale and I miss having no heartburn and I miss sleeping all night and I miss being able to bend down and I miss not running out of breath doing the simplest tasks. How’s that for a run-on sentence??
Milestones? Just experiencing every pre-labor sign!
Cravings? Sweet tea from McDonalds. It’s sooooooooooo good!

Progress?

I finally got checked today!!! But I'm only at 1 centimeter.... But that's better than nothing right?? Griffin dropped two days ago. It's the craziest thing. Everything is happening so slowly, yet so quickly all at the same time. I'm trying to get things at home in order and things at school. I'm so afraid I am going to forget something major. I know I won't get it all finished, but since I'm only at one cm, I may have more time than I think!!

Conferences are tomorrow night. I better prepare myself for a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions because it's going to be a long day! No school Friday!! Woohoo! Must finish thank you cards this weekend. Maybe get a pedicure Friday. Need to send off my hospital pre-registration forms. Need to install the car seat. Need to get childcare interviews lined up. Then I just have to make it to Valentine's Day for our class party, and I will be ready to meet my little man! One small problem.... My doctor is out of town all next week. Eek! I'm sure he will come next week just because of that!

I still have to check on insurance for the baby and maybe a cafeteria plan to pay for child care. We need to get our taxes filled. My bathrooms have been without baseboards for a year. My patio doors need blinds or curtains. OH MY WORD! I better stop. The list will just get longer and longer. It's amazing how everything MUST be done before he gets here. I think it will be a miracle if half of it is finished! ha! I have a long list on my desk at school just of things that must be done there before I go on maternity leave. Now I have a partial list of things that must be done at home.

This post is a complete mess. Ramble-ramble-ramble. Please know, Bran and I are soooooo anxious and ready to meet our little boy. We're ready for our lives to be turned completely upside down after I spend all this time trying to get organized and prepared.

37 Weeks!

37 Weeks
How far along? 37 Weeks! Finally full term!
Weight gain? Not sure – our scale still needs batteries. I would guess around 40.
Maternity clothes? Yes! However, some of them aren’t covering the bump as well as they should!
Sleep? Some nights it’s wonderful, other nights I just toss and turn. Between night sweats, restless legs, and the ginormous belly, sleep does not come easily!
Best moment this week? After a Babies-r-us trip with my mom and a baby shower with my family today, Griffin officially has everything he needs!! I need to get a few things bought for me so I can pack my bag. After that, he can come anytime!
Movement? Not as frequent because he is running out of room, but he is a strong little boy!
Gender? boy! Griffin Blaine
Labor Signs? I have been cramping on and off. I will get checked for dilation later this week!! Yikes!
Belly button in or out? It is flat, but trying to poke out!!
What I miss? I miss fitting into my clothes, my skinner face and body, not having huge pillows for feet, and being able to eat without getting heartburn.
Milestones? Reaching 37 weeks!
Cravings? Anything that someone starts to talk about! haha
