Well today wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, being a Monday after Spring Break and all. All the kiddos noticed my new hair cut of course. They’re so funny. Anything new never slips by their observing little eyes! I would post a picture, but I don’t have one. And I just got out of the shower, so it looks grody.
This is a scarf that one of my kiddos made. I think it’s absolutely precious. She has been talking about it since… Oh… October?? I was seriously thinking she was just making it up! But she was so excited when she handed me the bag this morning. I thought it was so creative and obviously took a tremendous amount of time.
So intricate! I would never have the patience to do that!
Just one reason why I teach elementary. Oh the sweetness!

I currently have 20 episodes of Til Death Do Us Part recorded on the DVR.
I love this show! I would much rather watch Dave Ramsey… but I don’t get that channel. So Gail Vaz Oxlade will do.
I haven’t written a Dave Ramsey post in awhile. We are still trucking along. We will make our last Hawaii payment next month. It will be nice to go on vacation without worrying about the cost! Our debt repayment plan has changed a little for various reasons. It will all be gone soon enough though!!
I’m sad Spring Break is over. The next two weeks of school will be all about the Benchmark. GAG! I’m sure I will wake Bran up in the middle of the night teaching. haha Poor guy.

Heavy Heart
A lot has been on my mind lately. My sister is having many complications with her second pregnancy. She is only 24 weeks and had to be admitted to the hospital until she delivers. She has lost the majority of her amniotic fluid. My heart hurts for her and her husband. I have never been pregnant, but I can only imagine how stressed out I would be if I was in her place.
A lady at our church was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. The Lord miraculously healed her, and her cancer was in remission. That is practically unheard of with that cancer in that stage. The doctors only gave her a month or two to live. She went back for a check-up this past week, and the cancer is now in her brain. God is still good, and his promises to her remain the same no matter what the doctors say. I just hurt for her and her family.
Our house was broken into again. However, the only missing thing was my perfume?? So strange. I am feeling a little unsettled. I keep telling myself that I should count my blessings and it could’ve been so much worse. I just don’t understand why this would happen to us again… Boo on creeps. We are getting a security system installed this week.
Bran lost a lot of work last month with all the snow. His paycheck was almost half of what we’re used to living on. I am thankful he has work though, and he is very busy now.
I went to the dentist today. I have four cavities. If you don’t know, cavities are expensive. Thankfully, we have great insurance. But with the aforementioned money situation, I was beginning to worry. We’ve already had to buy a new door and have it installed this week. I’ve bought a textbook for my next grad class, and we had to get Mason some tick medication because we found a huge tick on him the other day. Sigh… BUT to show that God provides, my dentist (who goes to our church) told us that he wanted to bless us. He is only going to charge what the insurance pays. I am so thankful for wonderful people in the world!
I serve an AWESOME God!
*Please be in prayer for my sister, Kayla, and my friend, Daranda.

Spring Break!
I am so glad that I have a week of rest and relaxation! However, I am sad that I am staying home… We have friends going on cruises, skiing, or laying on the beach. But then I think of how wonderful Hawaii will be this summer, and it’s not so bad.
My plans for this week:
My plans for this week:
- Hike Petit Jean
- Take Mason on a few walks
- Run (or really jog… Oh who am I kidding… I am just walking fast) with Dara
- Dentist app on Monday
- Clean out my car
- Do all of the laundry
- Spring Clean!
- Finish The Hunger Games series
- Paint my new front door
- Fill out report cards
- SLEEP!

Happiness!
So excited!!! My project on Donors Choose is now fully funded!!! Bran’s grandma and my grandma finished off what I had left. I am so thankful to have such supportive friends and family. I cannot wait to tell my kiddos tomorrow!! I am even more excited to put the cameras in their hands and let them work their magic! We are going to have so much fun.
This is how I spent my day after church today:
This is the stack of papers I graded. It’s actually not as bad as it looks. Half the stack is their last two module tests. I already graded those and just had to record them. But I spent four hours working on stuff at school today. One of these days, I won’t go to work on Sunday!! I will reinstate the Sunday afternoon nap!

Begging
I told you I had Spring Fever and am ready for Hawaii… hence the new blog background.
I only have $100 left to raise for my camera project on Donors Choose. My kids are so excited to be able to take pictures for their digital stories. If you can, please help them out by donating a little bit. The link is www.donorschoose.org/kristinmotley. We would greatly appreciate it!

Goodbye February!!
I am not sad to see February go. That just means we are one month closer to Hawaii!! I had recess duty today, and it was absolutely gorgeous outside! I have the worst case of spring fever now… I am praying that the next three months just FLY by!
I am looking forward to Spring break in March. I have a hair appointment to get a summer-do. Much needed.
I am looking forward to the end-of-year-testing to be over and done with in April.
I am looking forward to our church’s Easter production and meeting new people and hanging out with old friends.
I am looking forward to all of the fun activities in May. Track Meet, field trips, last week of school activities, Field Day, and Fourth Grade Promotion. It is so fun and exciting for both my kids and me!
I am looking forward to Hawaii in June. Like for real… I am totally beside myself. Bran and I talk about it almost daily. We are in desperate need of a vacation and change of scenery.
I am not sure if I am looking forward to July though… I am teaching a workshop in Arkadelphia, another one at our co-op, a week of CGI training, and summer school. I AM looking forward to the extra $$ though!
August brings a new car, new school year, and I’m sure many other changes. It’s an exciting time!
