New Routine
This weekend was awesome! I got to spend some quality time with my family, including my little nephew. He is so sweet! His first birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks. Bran and I are looking forward to his birthday party. His present came in the mail today. It’s perfect!
I also got a new camera this weekend. I was sad I didn’t get it in time to participate in Kelly’s Show Us Your Life blog tour. I might just post pictures of my living room later though. Back to the camera… It’s awesome! I love it! It is a million times better than my old one that was stolen.
I started my graduate classes today. I was really freaked out this weekend about it all. It looked really hard, and I was beginning to feel overwhelmed. However, after sitting and listening to the lectures tonight, I feel better. It is certainly not as easy as I thought it would be, but it’s not so challenging that I can’t do it. I have already learned a lot. I’m positive the 18 months will fly by!
So with a full time job with a million responsibilities, and being a new graduate student, and keeping up with all of my “wife duties” I have decided I need to be better organized. Here is my new routine:
6:00 – Work out and get ready for school
7:30 – Leave for work
7:45-3:45 – School Day
3:45-4:30 – Prepare for tomorrow at school (and hopefully cut down on going to school on Sunday afternoons)
5:00 – Fix dinner, eat with hubby, and chill
7:00 – 9:00 – School Work
10:00 – Bed!
I like routines. My rule is that I do nothing on Saturdays, and hopefully I can stay caught up on everything that that can be my rule on Sunday afternoons too! I miss my “after-church nap.” haha!

Spoiled Milk
So… apparently I can be quite the klutz. I was in a hurry for school yesterday morning, and quickly made my lunch: a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Well, it looked so delicious, I decided to just go ahead and eat it for breakfast! Of course you can’t have a pb&j without a huge glass of cold milk. I took an enormous bite of my sandwich as I headed out the door with my arms full of school stuff. I very gracefully got into my car and sat my filled-to-the-brim glass of milk on a not so stable surface to unload my stuff into the passenger side seat. Do you see where this is going?? Yes… it happened. My milk toppled over into the passenger side floor. It went e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. I just looked at it in awe at my silly mistake. I told myself over and over, “This will not ruin my day.” I rushed inside to get towels and the can of Resolve. I mopped as much of it up as possible. I sprayed Resolve everywhere, and I was off to school.
There was still a lot of milk in my floor. I simply didn’t have time to clean up properly. I paid dearly for this… It was over 90 degrees that day; probably over 100 in my car. And yes… the milk soured. And my car stinks. The smell slapped me in the face as I got in to go home that afternoon. GAG. It still stinks. I think it’s hopeless.
I’ve tried:

All have helped a little bit. However, there is still an undertone of spoiled milk. *sigh*

Fitting In
Mom… Don’t read this. It might make you sad.
I live in a town I am not originally from. I met my husband in college, and after getting married, we bought a house and I became an official resident of his hometown (I will call it R). It was strange at first. I mean, I grew up in one of the smallest towns known to men. When I introduced myself, if someone didn’t know me, I was immediately connected to my parents… or my grandparents. Which was okay. But moving to R, no one knew me in the beginning. They had no clue as to who I “belonged” to.
Bran is the type of guy that knows everyone! It doesn’t matter where we go, he always sees someone he knows. I now was identified as “Bran’s wife.” It was so weird at first going places where no one knew me! It was like starting all over! Actually, it was very nice in a way.
I have started my third year teaching. I am getting to know more and more people. Last night, we went to the high school football game to watch Bran’s alma mater. I actually saw people I knew! There were former students of mine that ran up yelling “Mrs. Motley!!” I talked to many parents as well. It was just a nice feeling to know that I have my own people now! haha!
I still miss my hometown, especially all the family get-togethers. However, I love my new hometown too. It’s nice to fit in.

T-Shirts
I love t-shirts. Currently I am wearing one of my oldest, rattiest, nastiest shirts. It’s a Sobe shirt my cousin gave me when he worked for their company. I must have been in 7th grade at the time… around there anyways. ha! For real though, it’s old. I have worn this shirt while practicing basketball in high school, playing intramurals in college, and painting our new house. I would take a picture to show you in all it’s dingy glory, but once again, I don’t have a camera.
That whole paragraph was completely…. pointless. So where am I going with my t-shirt love? Well…. I have a new one to add to my collection!
Here is my completed classroom website, just in case you wanted to see. I know I love looking at other teachers’ stuff.

This isn’t the best picture. Sorry. It’s been a LONG day!
My AState shirt! Woohoo! When I was accepted into grad school, the first thing I wanted was a t-shirt! (I know… That’s weird!) I am so ready to get started with my classes. (I know… I’m a nerd!) What I Make
I saw this video that a fellow teacher posted on Facebook. I thought it was so true and funny. Enjoy!

Getting Old
Bran made dinner tonight. It was so nice! We were sitting on the couch afterwards watching America’s Funniest Home videos. The next thing I know, I am laying down, and so is he. We are now fighting for more room in our sleep. ha! And it’s only 7:30. Finally, being the wonderful husband that he is, he decides to give me the couch, and he goes to bed. We are seriously acting like we are old people.
I really should stop talking about Dave Ramsey. Any time I make some sort of debt-free proclamation, something bad happens. Seriously! It’s getting annoying! This time, it’s Bran’s truck. Poor guy. He tried to start it yesterday morning, and it won’t start. We are going to have to get it towed and all that jazz. The Lord works things out though… Every single time this happens, we usually have a little extra money come in from somewhere. I just happened to get my check in today from our co-op from the class I taught last month. Now of course I had other plans for this money… But it is so nice to not have to worry about paying to get it fixed since we are on a tight budget.
