Working on my Fitness

Let's talk about running shall we....

I still don't consider myself a runner. I have it in my head that if I can run a half-marathon, THEN I will call myself a runner. So... I signed up to run a half.

I think I'm crazy!!!

That's my "for real??" face

I started this journey just five short months ago! How much I have changed in five months!!!

Thankfully, I have a wonderful group of men and women I'm training with. First Baptist Church runs a training group each year, and they even have separate pace groups. I'm in the slowest runners category, but I'm ok with that.

I want this headband!

And this is why I run... So I can eat a whole bag of chips! Jk jk... My real reason is this little guy

I want to be a great role model for him!

Going out on Saturday for four miles!

17 Months

Look who had his first chocolate chip cookie!

Cannot believe my sweet baby is 17 months!! I am going to have a hard time leaving him come August. He's been my little buddy all summer and is pretty much glued to my side.

He says:

Bath time!

Down please (when he is done eating)

All gone (when his drink is gone or his plate is empty)

What is that? (His favorite phrase since 11 months old)

No no no no (while shaking his head)

Bye bye (while waving)

Amen (after we say our prayers)

Shoes (when trying to put them on)

Momma

Dada

Nana

Papa (Nana and Papa are pretty rare though)

New this month:

Door

Ball

Apple (comes out as bapple)

Banana (usually pronounced as nana)

Elmo (usually momo)

Star (sometimes sounds like dar)

He is following more and more commands. He knows what a spanking is, and tries to avoid one at all costs! I try to avoid giving him one because it breaks my heart, but he is getting better at obeying. TYJ!

He takes just one nap a day which is usually right in the middle of the day. Today he slept from 10:30-2 which was SO nice. He is still sleeping 7-7 at night. I've gotten too lenient with his paci. He gets it at naps like always, but I've been letting him have it in his car seat and at restaurants. I'm dreading the day I have to take it away.

His new favorite game to play is pointing at anything and everything, in books or around the room, and wait for me to tell him the name of the object. He is such a little sponge!!

Brandon is loving this stage with G. Here he is giving him raspberries! My hubby is AMAZING!! He worked in the heat all day long today, came home and washed the dishes. Then he played with Griffin without missing a beat. I love that man!

Griffin is obsessed with doors. Here he is in his new favorite hiding spot in his changing dresser. All day long, he opens and shuts doors.

He also eats fruit all day! Pineapple, apples, bananas, oranges, peaches, grapes, and strawberries.... He loves them all! Fruit, sweet potatoes, bread, cheese, Cheetos, and Cheerios are among his favorites. I try to squeeze more green veggies in his diet through those handy dandy fruit pouches.
